For those that have had an MK1 -
I wanted to ask what your opinion is on the replacement door latches from FFR for the MK1. My MK1 latches, latch, and align into the body. However, they will pop out to a detent that lets the door move out about 3/8". I do not see an easy way to align these old latches, so will going to the new replacements, #10627 - Roadster Door Latch (For Roadsters Pre-Spring 2022) actually perform better and not pop out like my MK1 Latches???
Thanks!

Truthfully, I think the latches are the same other than the way the striker mounts for mk1 - mK4 until they changed to the new in house style latches in the last 2 or so years. Sometimes the edge wears off on the striker making it easier to come undone. MK1’s are prone to door popping open because the frame was flexing. I’m interested as well to see if someone came up with something ingenious.
This shows the notch that sometimes rounds out a bit.

Those are the same (or should be) as what you already have Mark. When they pop to the first detent it is due to an alignment problem that doesn't allow the strike plunger to seat fully.

Thanks Jeff! I contacted FFR Tech Support and the person that I got is telling me they are different from the MK1 latches.... Thus a little concerned with this answer. Now that I know whats, what I can make changes to these....
This car has been an adventure in every way. LOL

It is definitely a scary issue worth looking into.
Have you done the latch mod from back in the day?
I did the door latch "mod" 20 years ago and I can not remember the last time when a door has popped to that position.

What was the "mod" that you did? Was it just to modify the fitment of that latch into the striker?
