Underside prep for Raptor liner

Hey, all. The body is off for its last time. I hope to start primer in a few weeks. Now that the body is off and weather will be good nex week, I'd like to spray the Raptor liner kit I got late last year. What prep should I do to the fiberglass underneath? I found one old post that said to go over it with 80 grit and degrease, but that is about all I found easily.

All I can add is, put it on as thick as possible. If you're not racing, weight will not be a concern and with the cost of a paint job. I already put three "star" paint fractures on my front fenders. My own fault, but still annoying.

That is what I did and it is stuck on there. 80 grit and wiped it down with Acetone to remove dust and any other stuff. I rolled mine on rather than sprayed.

Just rough it up a bit and blow off dust while wearing the appropriate P.P.E. because your lungs will thank you.
Also, consider putting additional material in the upper parts of the fenders where you think stones will be thrown.
On my car I installed some left over KILLMAT in the tops of the fenders and covered it over with some Rolled On Raptor Bedliner.
I used the gun to spray on the majority of the project and only re-rolled the upper fenders to seal in the KILLMAT using my remaining Raptor Bedliner.

As already said prep is simply knocking down any stray strands and such using a DA with 40 or 80 and then cleaning with acetone or wax and grease remover. Now...here is where some difference of opinion may come in. I apply Raptor AFTER paint. Reason being that if it's done before paint the overspray from your primers, sealer, paint and clear will be on it and you'll have to go back afterwards and touch it up in the wheelwells and everywhere else that it shows. If you do it afterpaint it will all be fresh and black when the body goes back on. It's kind of a double edged sword either way---if you do it after paint you'll need to mask around edges and openings before spraying it...if you do it before paint you'll have to sand/clean any overspray off on all of the surfaces that will be painted before you prime plus do the previously mentioned touch up on it after paint. You just have to pick your poison.
