Hi Guys,
I feel like this has been discussed a lot, but here I go anyway.
Clearly the nose hinges do not allow for the nose to open completely.
I will cut away the nose tunnel aluminum as much as possible.
BTW, what's the best tool for this? I'm already riveted in place.
I also have my rad and A/C condenser in place and would rather not replace the condenser with a smaller one.

Can I just trim the hinges as indicated below in my photos? ( I will also cut away the fibreglass quite aggressively, as I have seen others do.)
This seems like the most straight forward approach. Will that solve all my problems?

I see some builders have added a wedge on the bottom of the bracket. I don't understand this, as my angles seem to work well between the back of the fog light and the bottom return of the nose.
It seems like this will make my problem worse. (am I getting the physics wrong?)

Any and all advice is welcome.

Thanks!

I made no mods to the hinges, and no wedge needed for me. I just cut the fiberglass under the nose. Main cut is about 3 3/4". Small cuts at ends about 2".

That's how I've cut them on the Coupes that I've done. I use wedges cut from PVC stock.

This is the finished trim on the nose.

Jeff Kleiner has it right. Whats really important to note in his photo is that the slot has been elongated. This is necessary for adjustment. To do this:

1) drill a hole in front of the slot that is already there, The hole will end up being 5/8 of an inch so plan accordingly.
2) cut the slot from the existing slot into the hole,
3) file or grind the slot to be smooth to allow the bolt to slide freely in the slot from end to end.

Also, the spacers mayend up all on one side on both hinges together the hood to align properly. (meaning the pivot won't be centered in the hinge bracket)

Be patient and calm, it is an exercise in patience.

Be sure you have the struts in place before final fitting.
