I have been following the forums for a couple of years now and I still learn new things everyday. And when I say learn things, I mean, realize things I didn't even know about. For example in the last couple of days:

No horn on wheel?
Power steering coolers?
Foam in doors?
Manual choke?
un-powered steering racks?
etc....

I have no idea what I don't know. Each post I read opens up a whole new can of worms.. My girlfriend bought me the Mark 4 manual for xmas. Then she was super excited when she recieved a Mark 4 poster from Dave. Thanks Dave! I wish while I was reading the manual it would say: hey wait, here are all the options you can do when you reach this point..

Sorry, just rambling...

Bob, There are many milestones ahead of you regarding your upcoming FFR order and we'll be here to help celebrate each one. It'll probably start with something like 'pulling the trigger', the dog-eared build manual by the throne, then the sleepless nights until kit delivery (or your assigned pick up date at FFR), donor teardown (or non-donor $hopping $pree), roller, frazzled nerves thinking about wiring, first start, go-cart, body work/paint, etc., etc. then- Graduation! followed by upgrades, upgrades, upgrades....transitioning into auto X, cruise-ins, drag races, (you pick), after all you're not building a trailer queen, are you- (rhetorical question Farley, set of ten)!!
The search function will be your first stop/best friend from here on out! Enjoy it all.
HTH,
Will

The list of modifications is longer than the list of options. There are a boatload of "might as well" modifications to do along the way. Keep searching the forum for ideas. I've modified every system on the car for either comfort, better performance or ease of maintenance. Has added significant time and cost to the build but I knew that in the long run I would be completely happy with every aspect of the car that "I BUILT".

U DON'T KNOW...how bad you'll feel if the foam in that door expands rapidly and splits the door apart. It has happened so be very careful and use the low-expanding foam.

Hey Bob, Im right there with you. Alot of things to learn and look into. One thing I have found is that everyone here will help you out and you will make lots of friends. Then when you go to your first FFR event you will be shaking hands, saying thank you and putting faces to the names. I cant wait. This whole thing makes me feel like a kid again, Im so excited to start!!!

The worst part about not knowing what you don't know if when you find out about them, it is usually 6 months after you would to have liked to have known so you could have made a decision. Now that you know what you didnt know you have to decide if you want to take two steps back and undo what you did, which you wouldnt have done had you known. It's enough to give you a headahce :-)
