I’m finishing my Coupe in AZ, and talking to Hagerty about insurance. The rep has a drop-down menu for type of vehicle and sub-model. There is a category for Shelby Daytona, but the sub-models don’t really align with the FFR Gen 3 Coupe. Does anyone have the “description” on their Hagerty policy? I’m assuming that same description would also translate to other insurers/carriers.

I am with Grundy for my 33 Speedstar. The insurance description is exactly lifted from the Certificate of Origin that FFR supplied. I had it insured prior to finishing it and getting the VIN & registration.

Year: 1933
Make: FFRI
Model: Coupe

Note: the title is the same and it is branded as a REPLICA.

Not sure why they would have sub categories unless they are mistaking it for a Dodge Shelby Daytona which was made in the late 80s to early 90s.

I have been with Hagerty for 22 years, since I built my Gen I coupe. I fully identified the vehicle when I spoke with the company back then, and they have, or at least had, pictures of the car that is described on my policy as a Ford 2-door sedan (?) bith with the descriptions "Modified" and "Replica".

My gen 2 Type 65 is shown on my Hagerty insurance card as a Factory Five (the make) Shelby Daytona Cobra (the model). I went through my then-local insurance agent in Pennsylvania and that's how it got identified.

You mentioned you are in AZ. I am having trouble with my 35 Truck. The AZ MVD registered the truck as a 2024 FFR inc, specialty vehicle. No further description. I may have to just do an "agreed Value" type insurance. I am taking it to my agent next week, will see what he says.

You want an agreed value policy to ensure you have it covered for what it's worth. I have my 33 Speedstar insured agreed value of $65k with Grundy.
