Hey everyone. I just got a quote from Stewart Transport to Buffalo NY for $1500. Does that seem accurate? Just seeing if that’s the going rate for NY lately. Thanks!

That is what Stewart charged me to deliver to Long Island NY earlier this year. Stewart was wonderful.

You could drive to the factory and pick it up.

A buddy and I took a pickup with trailer to FFR and picked it up. Advantage was no wait, great personal factory tour and save a few$. We did have to pay the MASS tax but less than NY, then when I finally put on the road I paid the added difference. Yes a bit more hassle but another option.219309

That was my first thought then I found out about the sales tax. Id rather just sit on the car and pay the sales tax when I ultimately get the car registered. Would have been fun though to drive out and pick her up.

I'm don't know about NY, but with my first build in IL, I did the same thing and when I went to register and pay the tax they hit me with a penalty and interest for the 2 years I had the kit and not paid the tax. They used the original invoice as date of sale and they allow 90 days after that date to pay the state sales tax with no penalty nor interest. Same thing on the motor. They want their pound of flesh at the time of sale.
