I’m trying to test my lighting, headlights, turn signal ets before I put the body on. I’ve hooked up my FFR headlight pull switch (see photo) which has power going in (red wire). When pulled to second position I have power going out the light blue wire.

I have not been able to get any power through my main RF harness to the front harness (which is all the lighting). So no headlight juice or anything. I unplugged the three wire connector and no power at the plug either (see picture). So I’m not delivering any power to the front harness when my headlight switch is turned on.

Do I need to have any other connections to make this work? Like hazards switch hooked up? I can’t even find the supplied hazard switch, I know it’s a DPST switch.

I also have three wires with connections on the main harness labeled low, high and dimmer (see photo) do these need to be wired?

My goal is to get power up to my lighting, as of know I have power at the headlight pull switch and power out when pulled to second position. I have no power at the plug in the photo.

Wiring is my weakest skill so a dummey explanation of what I’m doing wrong will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am right there with you and starting the same, so I will be watching for the wiring gurus to comment. You mentioned the supplied hazard switch, which I don't seem to have either. Was assuming I had to supply it since the kit came with the turn signal switch, which I am not using, and thought that it had the hazard function incorporated in it.

So far my build has been somewhat problem free (knock on wood). This RF harness has me a bit baffled, it’s probably something simple, but it’s escaping me at the moment. I know the electrical gurus can help. It’s just strange I don’t have any power at the plug that goes into the front harness (2nd photo). When the headlight pull switch appears to be working.

I knew some of this electrical would be a struggle. Hopping I can power through it it.

Do you need your high/low beam switch connected? Same with turn signal switch? Did you pop a fuse?

Definitely need your high/low beam switch installed for headlights to work. I would do that first and test again where you are.

So here is my high beam switch with 8 wires coming out and my harness connections. I’m assuming it’s two greens and a yellow together and two whites and a yellow together with red/pos and Blk to ground? Don’t see wiring schematics with RF for this push button high beam switch.

It seems odd this would need to be connected to make the harness hot leading to front harness and headlights?

I am not near the car, but definitely need high beam switch for it all to work. It is an on/on switch so it is what sends power to the high or low beam wires. Check out my thread for a wiring diagram I made. I am using an on off switch with a relay for mine.

There are instructions for this headlight dimmer switch in the MKV manual, IT does need to be connected for the headlights to work, it does not need a relay. Wire as in the instructions and you should be fine. This is connected to the dimmer connection at the dash harness.

To be clear, I needed a relay because I did not use the button provided. I used my own that was not a proper on/on switch.

JUst FYI, The MKV does utilize the hazard switch in the turn signal switch, if you are not using that you will need to provide a switch.

I found the hook up directions in the Mark V manual, I’m going to give it a try tomorrow. Hopefully that will give me power to the front harness? I’m also using a 5 wire on off switch not the factory switch. I’ll try the factory switch for a baseline and then try my aftermarket switch.

I ordered a standard switch for the hazzards, it seams straight forward to hook up to the connected pink wires that say hazard in the harness.
