I just received my 90 degree oil filter adapter and I am concerned it needs an o-ring on the engine facing side. Am I right?
The groove on that surface is 2.5” ID and 2.75” OD. Is this a standard o-ring I can source or do I need something that is potrolium compatible.

Yes, needs an O-ring. I don't know the size. Measure ID, OD and depth of the groove.
I'd call the source of the adapter and ask them for the proper O-ring.

Take your adapter to your local airport general aviation shop/hangar..
They can match it perfectly
Ask for a MS 28775 dash whatever or a S9413–xxx

Where's the male threads that the oil filter screws onto?
