Hi All -

I have emailed twice and called once and still cannot get a response from Forte. I am getting ready to add my Forte’s External Hydraulic Clutch Kit, but I have no instructions on how and where to mount the T-5 bracket. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Mark

Here is a picture of what mine looked like installed on a TKX. May or may not be helpful...

I’m traveling this weekend and will be home Monday. I have a car in the shop that I mounted that on. You have to drill 2 holes in the bellhousing. I can take pics when I get back if you still need it. TKX and TKO are totally different.

I have the same set-up from Mike (Forte) as JMD. I did need to swap out the cylenter to better match the pedal stoke.

Maybe Forte changes his design. I will look later today and take another photo.

If you would, I would appreciate it. Thank you!

Top end I can figure out, but it is the bracket on the Bell Housing that I need help on.

Thank you! So basically for location, it is just a matter of getting the slave aligned, inline with the pin travel to get the bolting location, correct?

Which master cylinder did you change to? I got the wilwood .75" from FFR with my kit and it seems to work fine. Did you go with a bigger one to shorten the pedal travel? If so, did it make it significantly stiffer to push?

Maginter,

Yes, that’s the “secret”! You’ll need to shorten the rod that connects the master to the clutch fork. JMD, I used the master that came from FFR when ordering the hydraulic clutch but did not go with the internal slave. I can check the bore size tomorrow if needed?

I know that with the Forte slave on the TKX uses the .81 master cylinder. Not sure if this setup requires that.

Thanks! I think that I have enough information that I can do this. It is just really frustrating when I cannot get this information from Mike. Thansk for all your help!

He’s not real big on providing instructions. I bought his mechanical throttle linkage and had to do a bunch of research to find out how it was supposed to go together. There was one brief page with a picture supplied with the kit but it wasn’t really enough on its own. I guess he figures if you’re smart enough to build a car you’re smart enough to figure out how these parts are supposed to work, lol.

I guess so.... Something I learned as an Engineer is to not assume everyone knows what you know.... It never ends well...LOL I was planning on going that way as well... Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks for the input!!!

From what I hear and have experienced, many smaller parts manufacturers leave out good instructions so they are not held liable for them. So yeah, leave it to the builder to do whatever they want with the parts so it doesn't come back on them for providing poor instructions. Mike changed the kit which was self explanatory with the billet arm and just made a bracket that gets bolted to the bell housing (after you drill the holes). He mentioned to me that he's one of the few parts suppliers that hasn't raised their prices but on this particular kit, he's lowered cost for sure. No matter, it still seems to work well though. However, I noticed a bit of flexing movement in that new bracket which is aluminum so I made a thru-bolt that goes through the top bolt hole of the MC and extends to the transmission case. I put a rubber stopper on the end as well and adjusted to eliminate any fatigue in the bracket over time. *Instructions not included*. ;)

That thing just looks too much like a Rube Goldberg device to me. And there's lots of posts on here and other sights from people trying to get it to work.

Just go with a Tilton HRB and be done with it. Simple, fewer parts, and just works.
