Day 4 into Day 5
Posted my packing paper and some flattened boxes on the local Buy Nothing group and got a commitment within a hour. Lady came over and picked them up to use for making Halloween decorations. I’m happy to have cleared some space.

Had a surprise garage buddy/supervisor for a few hours today. Sweet cat, very vocal. Neighbor took him to vet to check for chip, but none found. Posted notices in 2 FB groups. We’ll see what happens.

Front suspension, steering rack installed. I may have to move upper control arms to rivet the F panels in place. Ordered a rivet spacing template that was recommended to me by another local FFR builder Brian Legg. Took a minute to figure out the Koni shock build but once I did, it was quick to assemble all four. I didn’t like the raw steel of the shock spacers and the cutting was kind of rough so I did some filing to clean them up, then grease & wax remover followed by gloss black engine paint.

At this point I have 2 leftover snap rings (shocks are assembled with the Koni hardware), 2 large cotter pins, and four 12-point bolts. I haven’t installed the hubs, rotors, or calipers yet.

Started on the 3-link. Brackets attached to rear end, rear shocks assembled, lower control arms in position o the frame.

You may want to consider starting a build thread and posting your daily updates there. There's a whole forum section for that.

Or not because a lot of us will never see your thread. BTW the cat is a keeper. Our two go a long, long way to making wife and my lives happy.

The 12 point bolts are used to attach the caliper brackets to the spindles.

Thank you Jeff, haven’t gotten to the calipers yet. Working on the F-panels, my first aluminum panels to install. Is there a preferred caulking material or color?

I just used clear silicone from my favorite home improvement store. You just need a small bead on the frame sections where the panels join. You don't want so much that it oozes out and makes a mess of your build. Also, remember that silicone and paint don't mix, so watch what you touch if you get the stuff on your hands, tools, etc.

I've always used Clear GE Silicone II and as Papa Dave said a little goes a long way but if you find that you need to clean up the best way is with denatured alcohol before it cures.

Maybe I'm strange, never saw the need for a power rivet gun but I love my Ryobi cordless chalk gun.

I just picked one up today! I went to get plywood and 2x4’s to make a body buck. Picked up the caulking gun and told my wife they were running a special. Buy One Ryobi Cordless Tool at the regular price, and get a second Ryobi Cordless Tool also at the regular price ( it was time to replace my 20 yr old jigsaw)
