I was always under the impression that the A - frame transmission mount is installed BEFORE the motor and transmission goes in. Manual implies otherwise. I haven't mounted it yet but I'm checking off things that need to be done before I install the engine and transmission.

Any advice appreciated.

Agree with Rich. Very easy to put in after the fact.

I installed it before and had no issues getting the engine and transmission in. I have a TKX so not sure if it’s narrower/shorter than others.

Same. Easy peasie with my 427/TKX, and I installed the drivetrain myself.

I've always installed it after.

I mounted it before, and I'm glad I did. The bottom of each "leg" needed some grinding to get it to fit between the 4" tubes. So whether you mount it before or after, be sure to test fit!

Same here. I did mine first and am glad I did because it was a pain. Some part of it was just a bit big to fit easily and I was glad I had room for leverage. I didn't have any trouble installing the engine/transmission combo afterwards. If you do it afterwards I suggest test fitting it before hand and making sure it goes in easily.
