MKIV Body resting contact points

So I have the body where it best fits on the chassis. I decided to start the body work on the cowl section where the windshield rubber rests on the body. As I was filling in I noticed that the body has crushed the bulb seal and the body is resting in the firewall causing a hump affect running across the body from Driver side to Pass side. The body is locked in and the bottom has already been bolted up to the chassis. Is this a contact point for the body or do I have to remove 3/8" from the firewall so that the body floats? I also have the Breeze windshield channels inserted but i have not drilled the windshield posts yet and dont want to as this hump may bee affecting how low the windshield sits. Can someone confirm my thinking. thanks again.

I have had to trim the aluminum firewall in a few cases. Make sure you trim the fire wall extension on the right side as well
