Hi gents,
My 289 kit is being delivered in November, so I'm starting to collect parts and info, just like any other self-respecting car guy ;)
So.... I went with the 289 gauge set that FFR provides, however I'd like to also include an analog clock with the collection. I understand that the gauges are made by Speedhut, but I didn't find a clock that I believe matches what FFR provides. If you added a clock, what did you use? Thanks!

Even though I bought my Speedhut clock gauge about 16 years ago (MK3). You should be able to find out from either FFR or Speedhut the following information. Maybe the kit includes a clock, but if not.
What size gauge is being used for the 289 kit.
Font style.
Bezel type.
Dial. I would think background is black with white pointer and some type of reverse color glow for night.
Pointer. When I bought my clock, it would not light up a night. On their site now they seem to indict you can now get a clock where the pointer will light up at night. All other gauges will light up a color of choice for night driving.
Text. You can either remove text or add text to the gauge.
Wi
I can’t imagine to much has change.
Hope this helps.

Speed hut will make you what ever gauge background/font you want. If you call them directly there is a 75/25% chance you will get someone helpful. If/When you do get someone helpful, they are great and can help make whatever your vision is happen. I went a couple of rounds with their graphics department until I landed on what I was satisfied with. It costs a little extra but not much.

I believe that the 16009 289 gauge set are the Autometer gauges.
The 16007 Vintage GPS set is the Speedhut gauges.
If did order the Vintage GPS gauges, and thenyou were to cancel the gauges
from FFR and then order direct from Speedhut then you could get a clock to
match the other gauges and you would also have a far better selection of
customization options for the entire gauge package.
EDIT: Speedhut has a sale going on now, so you might even save some money
ALSO: I believe that the 289 gauges are the Autmoeter gauges....

When I went over my order with Travis I asked about the 289 gauges and if FFR had an optional clock. He indicated that they did not, but mentioned that they were made by Speedhut and that I should reach out to them. If it turns out that they are Autometer I'll be scratching my head. FWIW I do find it funny that I can't get a good view of all the various gauge options they offer. I asked if the gauges that come with the kit are the same as the ones in the Viking Blue 289 car in their showroom - I was told they are. When I saw them at the open house in June they "looked right". Not Stewart Warner but close enough ;)
