Gota lead GT engine with 23k on it trying to figure what to offer, suggestions ?

Paid $4800 from junkyard for 2015 mustang 5.0 a few years back. It had 41k on it. Recently purchased a 2021 with 11k on it from the same yard for $6200. Make sure if it is from a non junk yard that you can verify that the motor VIN is clear as a junked car. With a used motor they may check depending on where you live when titling. Didn’t even look in WI.
Offer $4k and see if it goes?

In 2020 I bought a 2017 Gen 2 with 17k miles for $6k shipped. It came with a bunch extra parts I didn't need which I was able to sell on eBay, recouping about $1k.
