Ive been planning the details of my Coupe build, doing a lot of searching here and browsing build threads. Anytime someone references using the ford hydro boost, its using Forte's kit... Ive checked his site and there isnt any hydro boost specific product listed. What is contained in his kit and more importantly, is there something about the factory ford stuff that won't work in a coupe?

Im using a 99' cobra 4.6 DOHC, so the pump already mounts up.. What does his kit provide?

FYI I was talking to Mike F. about his hydroboost system last week (I'm planning to use it for my 289 USRRC build). I had the same concern about it since I couldn't find any info on it via his website - he was quick to say that a lot of his stuff isn't on his site yet. I'd give him a call for details. I'm still waiting on more info and pricing myself.

BTW here's a tech link for it in case you find it helpful...

Gen3 Coupe build? Really no way to fit a firewall mounted hydroboost (or vacuum) power assist on that frame. Factory Five is now showing a remote mounted vacuum boost system.

I have one of Forte's units and had to deep dive on the unit he sells because I've had a lot of issues with the setup that I've had to troubleshoot and resolve. Not sure if this is still what he sells, but at one point Forte told me he uses a 1999-2006 Chevy Silverado pickup hydroboost. I'm not sure if his units are new, or refurbished. He welds on a threaded rod to the pushrod and that is what mounts to your pedal arm. I think he's changed which master cylinder is mounted onto the hydroboost over the years...I've seen several different ones in different folks build threads. I'm pretty sure mine is Ford OEM part number DR3Z-2140-A. There are some modifications needed to the DS footbox wall to mount it - on my kit (which I wasn't the original buyer) I believe the original builder shipped Forte the panel and he modified it and shipped it back with the hydroboost setup.

Also want to make you aware of this post. It's been a while since I revisited it and haven't confirmed if my unit has the same issue yet, but you may want to do a little research. I'm not trying to scare you away from his unit - he's a great vendor to work with and many folks have had great success with his setup. https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?28186-Hydroboost-Power-Brakes-Potential-Safety-Issue (https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?28186-Hydroboost-Power-Brakes-Potential-Safety-Issue)

Thanks for the feedback, this is the stuff I’m looking for! Since manual brakes have a pretty decent reputation in the coupe, I’ll probably start there so I’m not hung up on setting up some power assist when I could be going down the road!

Looking at 2000 Cobra R fronts and stock 2015 Mustang rear.
