Sorry you will have noticed funny spelling of Aluminium, thats how we say it where I come from. Hence UKSNAKE.

Building a Mk5 with my son. We have front and rear suspension, brakes, sway bars and diff in. According to FF manual next step is park brake and then fuel tank followed by steering.

Im a bit anxious that I havent put any aluminium panels on yet. The manual is a bit vague on that as it seems to contain photos from various stages of builds. Looks like first panel is for steering and pedals. Is that okay?

Nothing has fallen off yet, not too many spare nuts and bolts after each step so thats a good thing right.

Still no wheels of course, but I think thats a standard problem.

Thanks,

Chris

I have delayed panel installation as long as possible just for the sake of accessibility purposes. The only panels I locked in were the front F panels.

You did not mention brake and fuel line routing, pedal box and steering but I decided to rough or lock in these components to my satisfaction prior to any further panel installation.

Leave the outside DS foot box panel off until first start and checkout for access purposes. Makes sound mat and carpeting installation easier too.

Continue on!! Definitely want the fuel tank in before the back panels and wait till you try to fit the front panel(s) of the foot box!! You can install them in any order but some panels are left off for accessability. I am waiting on most of the suspension parts on the MK5 i am building, but have all of the panels installed.
