Is it better to replace a leaking Radiator than trying to fix a leak at what appears to be at a tank weld?

You'll have to remove it either way whether you took it to a welder for repair or replace. I'd just replace it.

When I was building my roadster, I searched for a long time for someone that was willing to weld on an aluminum radiator, as I wanted to weld in a 1/8 inch NPT bung for my temperature sensor. What I quickly discovered is that hardly anybody welds radiators anymore, especially aluminum ones. It’s such thin metal that they would probably just blow through it and make 10 leaks where there used to be one. Best to just replace it.

Reading here over the years it seems that repairs are not long term very often.
