Hi, I'd be grateful for confirmation as to how the dash and firewall aluminium go together. The attached CAD image ("Dash & Firewall) from the manual shows them clashing - the dash has a right-angle bend and therefore the dash top wants to sit horizontal when it's resting on the 3/4" cross-member - but it would then intersect with the firewall. I can only assume that either the top of the dash slopes up so that the front edge sits on top of the forward arc of the firewall (as per "Image 1" attached), or the dash has to be lifted so that the dash top is horizontal (as per "Image 2" attached) - this doesn't seem right though as the 3/4" cross-member would surely interfere with the gauges?

If the dash top needs to slope up, the dash panel should have a greater than 90 degree bend?

Thanks for your help as always.217656217657217658

The dash sits on the firewall and the body goes on top. Bulb seal to keep the heat out. Really very simple. Some put the dash on after the body.

Thanks David - grateful for that. It just seems odd that the factory CAD design doesn't show it that way - though it's obviously not possible for the dash and the firewall to intersect as shown in the image from the manual and, to put this right, the long bend in the dash needs to be greater than 90 degrees.

But I'm sure it goes together the way you say - which looks like the obvious compromise. Trouble is I'm a pernickety old engineer and such obvious inconsistencies annoy the hell out of me! 😁217768
