For those planning to install Cruise Control and have a Tremec TKX transmission this information might be helpful.
I planned to install cruise on my Roadster, I decided on the Dakota Digital CRS-3000, although most of the suppliers have pretty much the same unit. The Tremec TKX transmission has an electronic pulse port which I hoped to use as oppose to installing the magnets on the drive shaft. I called Tremec to get the PPM (Pulses Per Mile) rate the port supplies, I was told 12,000 so everything looked good to proceed. Installed the unit and everything checked out on diagnostics but the Cruise wouldn't engage, after rechecking and rechecking i contacted Tremec to confirm the Pulse Rate to find out the rate is actually 54,000 PPM which is a typical GM 2 wire pulse rate and outside the read capability of the CC unit. :-/ To get the unit to work I either need to install the magnets on the drive shaft or install a stepdown converter SGI-100BT between the Tremec and the control unit... I decided on the converter and hope to have it installed in a week or so. Stay tuned...

Installed the SGI-100BT converter unit. It's not waterproof so it was suggested to be installed in the cockpit. The converter is approx. 2" wide x 1" tall and 4" long, I installed it in inside top of the passenger footbox, about 4" in from the 2" chassis rail - close to the where the servo is located on the engine compartment side so the wire runs were fairly short and out of the way from potentially being knocked with a foot. Tested the unit on a weekend run and it worked great, quick to pickup the speed signal and responsive to inputs. Happy with the way it turned out.
