I stopped to look at a Dodge truck that I have passed everyday for the last two years. It is just sitting there with a faded for sale sign in the windshield. So faded you cannot read the phone number anymore. It looks in good shape, I'm always looking for stuff to buy....

Any way I walked across the street to the Village Old Car Shop as I saw a pickup in the driveway. Knocked on the door and asked the guy inside if he knew the story behind the truck. It seems the guy that owns the Dodge spends most of his time in California and just doesn't care about the truck. He has many people ask about it. Sad.
Well, he invited me and started showing me a 1904 Cadillac that he is restoring. Like this. It actually pretty tiny.

While he is talking I was eyeballing his Ford Econoline van cab/pickup that was sitting there. Cool. He saw me looking at it. It is his go to the dump truck... Nice. So he shows me all the steps he has done to repair this Cadillac. I guess I looked interested as he then stats walking to the back and opens a door to the back garage. Well it wasn't a garage but a showroom full of old 1940', 1950 Chevys, Fords, and a bunch of Brass era cars. All his own cars and all registered. I didn't want to take any pics as I didn't ask. He tells me he drives ALL of them and they were all registered. All had oil, drip pans under them, so I knew he really did drive them.
Well, I just thought it was cool that he invited me in to see everything. He was certainly proud to have them. I then asked if he ever thought about having a group of Factory Five cars show up at his door someday. He told me that he has several groups each year show up. A Porsche group a Corvette group, A British car group etc show up each year. He has a presentation that he does. (He made a suggestion that we bring him lunch. His wife makes coffee and brings a cake or cupcakes for the group. This guy is like 70-75 years old.) So I was thinking maybe this Fall we could do a cruise around the lake and stop in. There are three or more garages right in the same spot, so maybe I will check in with them as well and see if they would mind staying open someday and letting us in the see their cars. If so I'd like to set up a day to do so.
Maybe some of you would like to come up and do a cruise/visit?
I took this picture at his place several years ago to give you an idea of what is in this little Village setting....
