Gents,

So, if things go well my latest project will be sold next week, and I'll be ordering my Mk 4 roadster (289 FIA). With a one-car garage I really had to sell my current car ('65 Falcon wagon) before placing my order ;)

So I was doing some research on my PC recently, and came across this info that you might enjoy. I've been wanting to build a Cobra replica for a very long time - prior to FFR when I was looking at Everett Morrison kits. But then I came across Factory Five, and I proceeded to price out how I'd build a daily driver Cobra. Let's just say family took priority and this never came about, but here we are almost 24 years later and it sure looks it'll finally happen... Enjoy this trip down Memory Lane :)

Rob

The part that sticks out to me is that the accessory prices are still about the same. I think seat tracks are right about $75 and I believe the windshield accessories are still priced about that.

The kit price itself mirrors inflation.

Thanks for sharing

There were no complete kits back then so none of the typical donor parts included. When they came out with the complete kits (2007?), it seems like that added around $4000.

Right, it’s all relative ;)

I'm currently shopping for new tires in the 15" group. The BFG TA for a set same as the size you quoted runs cheapest at $935. (2001 pricing = BFG 235-60-15 & 275-60-15: $280). While by the way, I'm searching to buy a set of 4-lub Halibrands too. Referrals appreciated.

Oh man! If I’d only known. Been kinda-sorta looking for ’64 OR ’65 Falcon wagon to restore as that was the car I drove in high school. Sure, I can always find one, but to read about it the forum makes it special. :D

FWIW, BFG no longer manufacturers the Radial TA. Coker Tire purchased the molds and makes them now. You pay quite a premium to get the tires from Coker.

Interesting tidbit. Does it now mean Coker Tire has "improved" on the 1980s technology of the T/A? Add to Coker's product name portfolio is ownership of the Halibrand wheels too.

For sure. Plenty of saved lunch monies to get a set of Avon's.

I still have my original build spreadsheet, 2002-2004. I’ll have to take a look.
