Finally to the wiring stage on my project, and I have a few questions for those of you using the Pro flow 4 setup. (Mine is on a 427 from Forte)

1) Where did you install your mass air temperature sensor? I'm assuming in the bottom of the pan for the air filter - but I'd love to see some pics of how others have done this. I've looked through several build threads and haven't seen one!

2) Did you use a CDI? If so, why? Mike never mentioned one to me when buying the setup, and the motor obviously ran on the dyno without this....

3) On fuel plumbing, I have the usual Aeromotive FPR, and a line coming from it to the pass. side fuel rail connection. Nothing is mentioned in anything I can find regarding the OTHER fuel rail opening on the drivers side? I assume that's just for alternate plumbing options, and should just have a plug? (That's what I've done at this point) Just odd that nothing is mentioned in the instructions, nor is there a plug included in my kit....

I'm sure I'll come up with 20 more questions, but these are just on the tip of my very limited brain!

Also having to rip apart my rear wiring harness to upgrade the fuel pump power wire to 10ga for my 340 fuel pump isn't making me super happy with myself either..... Oh well, it's all in fun right?

On my ProFlo4/427, I put the air temp sensor in my air filter housing, on the bottom, passenger side. There's a knockout on my air filter housing for this. I did use an ignition box, as Gordon Levy and others suggested I use it. My build thread has pics of it installed on top of my passenger footbox. For fuel plumbing, I came out of my Aeromotive FPR to the front of the passenger side fuel rail, as is standard. I have nothing connected to the driver's side fuel rail, and mine came with a block-off already installed on that side; didn't have to touch the driver's side at all. Feel free to call me on my cell any evening to chat about your ProFlo. I'll PM you my cell #.

I didn't like the idea of letting the ProFlo4 itself drive ignition. Seemed like a CDI box would make more sense to control spark on a higher-horsepower engine. Several others here on the forum with ProFlo4 went the same route. Read here for more discussion on it, and make your decision. CD ignition advantages with pro flo 4 - Edelbrock Community Forum (https://forums.edelbrock.com/forum/pro-flo-efi/pro-flo-4/33025-cd-ignition-advantages-with-pro-flo-4). If you do go the CDI route, you need a different coil than what you'd use if you use the PF4 directly. The installation instructions spell this out clearly.

Thanks,

1-Bottom of air cleaner
2-Yes on CDI box (most recommend this)
3-See attached pic of my Aeromotive FPR - should have 3 lines connected to it. I also removed my pressure gauge and plugged that port off. Apparently those gauges are really good at burning up cars from leaking so I removed it.

Biggest recommendation I would have for wiring the PF4 is do it EXACTLY as the directions tell you. Do not attempt to make any special fuses, relays, bypass direct power to battery, etc. After 4 years now and 7800 miles using the PF4 I will vouch it performs very well and you will be very satisfied with it.
