Painthouse "Blurple" in the sun

A couple of weeks ago I shot Bill Elliot's roadster with "Blurple" a new color from Painthouse. Bill posted some inside photos because I couldn't catch a sunny day before I had to go out of town but I'm back now and the sun is shining! Outside the color shifts depending on viewing direction; you can see how it changes around some of the roadster body's curves. The silver which is pretty much sprayable metal consisting only of equal parts medium aluminum flakes and a PPG Deltron clear binder really sparkles in the sun. Here are few pics.

An amazing color and application.

Willing to invest $60k+ in a car and then wanting to skimp on the paint/color baffles me. Yes, $3k+ is expensive for a gallon of paint but as Jeff pointed out you only need one gallon and it's a basecoat/clearcoat and not a tri coat. The color/paint is the first thing everyone will notice, number one comment about my car is about the color. A distance second is about it being a Cobra.

I helped convince a builder near me to spend the money for the Randy Candy Red and he has literally thanked me at least half a dozen times.

This is Antimatter and they are quite different. Antimatter is mostly black and only picks up blue in really intense sunlight:

Is there an antimatter that does the same with a dark cherry or purple? They both look fabulous as far as blue goes…. I may need to go with that antimatter blue. So damn good…

I have been looking a Painthouse and have two colors I a think about ordering. Have you found it to be more cost effective than 3 stage in a similar color? Has anyone on the forum used Tropical Glitz paint?
