Body work Parting line prep question

Staring body work. I have dug out all of the mold wax. I don’t see any voids in the parting lines. Saw some old posts on the forum saying after sanding the mold parting lines flush to the body, you need to trench the seam 1/16 to 1/8 inch below the body surface and fill the trench with a fiber fill material. I have seen newer posts, stating that trench and the backfilling it with a fiber fill material is no longer necessary. Is there still a need to trench the parting line seam and fill with fiber fill material?

Only if there are significant voids.

I flattened the parting lines then blocked them down before starting the body filling process.

After that I degreased car and went to sanding and filling.
