Wasn't sure where to post this, but since this is where I spend most of my time I'll put it here. Thought I’d share my latest engine build with the group. One of my long time customers bought a 64 Galaxy and wanted a nice FE to put in it. Long story short he brings me several boxes full of parts from several different FE’s. So, with a bunch of parts and a lot of money this is what I ended up with.

428 Block
Scat forged stroker kit- 462 Cu. In.
Ported Edelbrock heads
Hydraulic roller cam
Harland Sharp roller rocker arms.
Comp Cams 230/236 Hydraulic roller cam
Then all the other necessary parts to make this work
I got the long block completed, but now the fun starts. He had an old Offenhauser single plane dual quad intake that kept getting my attention. Wouldn’t it be cool to convert this to multi point fuel injection? He agreed. I added injector bungs, injectors and fuel rails to that intake, along with dual 4 bbl type throttle bodies We used Holley HP electronics and I cobbled together a base tune. Amazingly it fired first try. I ended up with about 30 dyno pulls on it just working through various issues and getting a good tune. It was a really fun build, but make no mistake FE’s are very expensive.

Here's the dyno results. He came up with a set of reproduction 427 exhaust manifolds which cost us about 30 HP, but we still got to our goal of 500.

There are alot of arguments that can be made here about the amount of money spent vs horsepower made. However nothing is as cool or sounds that good than a stroker FE in a Cobra.

FE's can make a lot of power. I had one built by Blair Patrick for a truck I'm building and it dynoed at 526/600 and it's not even that crazy of a parts list.

Nothing like a classic big block running on recycled dinosaurs.

Nicely done Bob! Great numbers, and sounds fantastic! I am sure you dyno was saying 'what the hell Bob!'

Really, nice! I love the sound. My teenage son and I have built a 428 FE from my dad's old '67 Thunderbird for our MK4. We went with the ProFlo4 for the port injection. They make a wicked sound at idle don't they? Really cool to keep the old iron alive and roaring, too!

Couldn't you squeeze a few more cubes out of it... What a torque monster.

Great job, love the FE stuff.
I will give you a nickel for those old valve covers!
