Electric Power Steering Stop Working HR33

I was on my way to a cruise night when my electric steering on my HR33 just stopped working without any warning. I got it into the parking lot and poked around and found nothing wrong, all fuse and wires were intact. After a couple hours decided to head home and it started working again, no problems.

Has anyone experienced this, what is the cause and how to fix it?

yep, this happens with mine. if I switch the ignition off, then immediately on again, or restart the car after a stall, then the power steering (EPAS kit) cuts out and will not operate again until the ignition is switched off for at least 10 seconds. Damn annoying.

Maybe this was the problem?

i have learned to turn the adjustment knob to the off position when i shut the car off. its was about 50/50 if it worked when i started the car. if it did not initialize at start up the fix for me was just to turn the knob to the off position, give i a few sec then turn it back on. so for so good. Doug

Hey Doug, good solution. Will try this with mine and see how it goes. Fortunately it has only happened to me after engine restart from a stall. I usually just pull over somewhere and cycle the power for 10 seconds and all is good.
