I have recently purchased a very early stage 818S project. The car rolls and the engine and transmission are physically bolted in. That is the extent of the work that has been done so far. I am looking to see what if any options there are for a harness for the vehicle. I contacted iWire who unfortunately does not offer them anymore. I am located in MA so I can't go aftermarket or else I won't be able to get it registered. I need to retain the stock ECU and am wondering if anyone has any leads for a harness that will work for my vehicle. 02 WRX Donor/ECU. I do have the original harness and if it comes to it I will use it but would prefer to "fast forward" and get a pre-made harness without needing to do lots of dieting/extending.

Thanks and best Regards.

I did a severe diet on my harness starting with cutting everything loose from the ECU connectors an only splicing in what I needed to make it run and light up the Subaru panel. My nephew took a different approach. He found a spot the mount the ECU, plugged everything in and shortened and spliced all the wires in the center tunnel, cutting out intervening connectors, and lengthening a few wires as necessary.

I don't think anyone will offer a premade harness for you. Bite the bullet and do it yourself. Download the maintenance manual and print out the wiring pages and go from there. Get a good soldering iron and a bunch of heat shrink and learn to enjoy the process. You'll wind up needing a volt/ohmeter. Do yourself a favor and buy a better one than Hazard Fraught sells. I love my Fluke.

P.S. When splicing, strip one side 1/4" and the other wire more than an inch. Then tease one or two strands out of the long strip, cut the rest of it to 1/4", overlap them and wrap the teased strands around them both. Then solder. Don't forget to put the heat shrink on first.

You can get a pretty decent chassis harness form American Autowire or Coach Controls that handles everything except the engine. Dieting the engine harness isn't that bad because it is mostly stand-alone.

Thanks for the responses here. Seems I will likely end up having to DIY this. With that said, if anyone happens to come across this who has a premade harness for the car please feel free to send me a message or respond here.
