I need the mid shift position on my car for a few reasons. Called Forte yesterday and Tremec is on backorder with no end in sight per Forte, and they are a Tremec preferred vendor.
So who knows when it will get filled.

Looking at the SXT from silver sport trans even thought its a little pricier than the Tremec. Any of you multi car builders out there have any comparisons to offer between the two on the TKX or TKO?

I have a TKO in mine and I'm not real happy with the way it shifts. It's notchy and 3rd geat is difficult to find at times...

Are you talking about a TKO with a Tremec mid shift or a SXT mid shift?

I think short throw shifters can feel a little notchy when new but should loosen up.

I changed out my TKO at 4000 miles for a TKX due to the slow shifting of the TKO. You have to wait for the synchronizers to catch up before it will shift. They also say it will not shift over 6500 rpm. Never tried it above 6000. TKX shifts like a dream. Smooth and quick.

I guess its more of a smaller group that may have experience that can answer the question with confidence. Im sure both parts are great but I pulled the trigger on the STX. Little smaller company, potentially better quality because of it (more repeatable tolerances / lower volume) and potentially a shorter throw?? I'll post back with what I observe.

My brother in law stopped by this last weekend on a men's biker / weekend road trip with his buddies. One of the guys on the cruise worked in the Tremec facility in New Hudson MI. He said they were launching the TKX hen he left but it was a big improvement over the TKO internally.
Time will tell.

The TKX has a completely different synchro system than the TKO. TKO is fine and strong if you don't want to bang shift.

I have a TKX with the STX Front Shift Kit. Overall, I like it and it is made well. It was quite stiff at first, but after a 1000 miles, it broke in nicely (as STX said it would).
