I have a new build Mk4 and I am told I need Windshield wipers in California. Any suggestions for a good not to expensive kit?

Take a look at Period Correct, LLC (https://prdcrrct.com/product-category/wiper/?v=0b3b97fa6688)

I'll likely go with none and add the marine hand operated bolt-ons to pass inspection then keep them in the trunk. If you are looking for motorized the period correct are nice.

I found the Marine wiper online. Is there a method to attach these to our windshield available?

See post #13, thats one way to do it. https://www.ffcars.com/threads/manual-wipers-anyone.287676/

I'm not there yet but If a less permanent way doesn't exist I'll likely draw up one and 3d print a clamshell type to not permanently mod the car.

I made a simple mount from angle aluminum and bolted to the top of the windshield with square nuts in the channel. See post #122 in my build thread.

BTW the square nuts in the channel is also a good way to mount the FFR visors to avoid cracking the windshield, another great idea posted by Jeff Kleiner.

The California vehicle code requires self-operating windshield wipers, one installed on the left and the other on the right. You can bet you'd get the one inspector who would have issues with those hand-cranked ones.

Many go with the Specialty Power Windows WWK-2 Standard Universal Wiper Drive Kit. Robust and looks good to boot.

I was lucky. There’s a guy next town over that used to refurb British sports cars. I went there and picked up a used set of MG wipers, cheap. So, if you can find a junk yard or somebody similar……
