Like I have stated before, in 2017 I ordered a complete MK IV kit but cancelled it due to kids, family, etc…….. I FINALLY getting back on track and been studying what I first ordered BUT it has been brought to my attention the MK V may be better for me since I am 6’3” 240 pounds with size 12 feet. After studying the new brochure from factory five and reading threads I am back to square one. When I look at the pictures of the MK V I really not sure I like the body compared to MK IV but have not seen one in person. I reached out to factory five and they told me that it might be the angle of the pictures or the silver color of the MK V cause they said the bodies actually do in fact look very similar. To me the MK IV has more of a “bubbly” look and draws my attention compared to the MK V but curious is anybody has seen both of them in person.
I think once you get it finished and painted the only difference you'll be able to tell is if and when you park beside it beside a Mk IV...and even then only if you're looking for differences real hard. But you will enjoy having more space to fit in it every minute you drive it. I haven't seen a Mk V in person so I'm no expert here, but that's my take on it.

I have a Mk5 at my place in process. Having built and owned a couple Mk4's I don't see a difference other than the wraparound under the doors is different. Not visible behind the pipes. I don't notice any difference in the overall look. What I do notice though is how tight the parting lines are and how well the doors fit. It's already been demonstrated that the Mk5 body requires about 50% less body work then previous versions. I really can't imagine not choosing the Mk5 for this reason alone. Given your size the fit of the Mk5 for you makes it a perfect choice IMO.

I’ve done body and paint on nearly 100 Mk4s and now my Mk5 Beta car and can assure you that there is no difference in the body shape…only in the fit

This is me sitting in the Mark V at FF. I am 6'5 280lbs with size 15 feet. After that visit I ordered the complete Mark V kit. That should tell you something.216598

They are big numbers and you look quite comfortable in there. Good luck with the build.

The only real cosmetic differences I see are around the interior with the console area. I'm sure opinions vary there but as others have said, with your height, I'd definitely go MKV.

Correct, There is no difference in the shape of the MKV body verses the MKIV.. I have one of each here, and like Jeff said there is no difference.
