OK I plan to have have separate Dual system.
Typical pipes going back to a X pipe .......
Then straight back to Dynomax mufflers and Turn downs in front of OR Behind the rear axle.
AND After the X-pipe A set of Cutouts with open pipe going to side outlets in front of the rear tires.
Another option is to switch Which outlets on the car are muffled and OPEN.
I'm sure others have One of these type of setup.
No matter what if the mufflers are too loud for my taste i may install some Supertrapp disc's to tune it.

FWIW, I built my 33 Speedstar with the FFR supplied exhaust that has it dumping out the sides in front of the rear wheels. It was extremely loud and made the car not enjoyable to drive. I also got a lot of exhaust fumes coming into the cabin.
I purchased the tail pipe kit from FFR and installed it. It made a very significant reduction in the sound volume in the cab and eliminated the exhaust fumes. It is still louder than I would like but turning down my hearing aids solved that. I plan to add a cross over, if that does not time it down enough I will swap the mufflers for Dynomax Super Turbos (have them on my 68 Barracuda and they are perfect for me).

Which rear suspension do you have? The answer will affect how much space you have to put in an X pipe.
FWIW, I am not aware of any builder successfully incorporating an X pipe into a Hot Rod. That is why I chose to use a muffler from a 2016 Cadillac CTSV - internal crossovers and cutouts built in.
Random tip of the day: Pool noodles work well to mock up exhaust pipes, if you are going to get into tube bending...

My fav muffler, I had set years ago on a 88GT stang and knew they were going on my 33.

I have the 3 link on my G2 HR. I was not sold in a X pipe idea. I'll have to a bit more home work on this idea.

Not sure why the rear suspension would have any impact on whether you could fit an X pipe. Whether it is 3 link, 4 link or IRS all the frame changes occur at the back after the floor.
FWIW, there is a guy on the 33 Facebook forum that has a Gen 2 33 with an LS, long tube headers, X pipe, I believe Borla mufflers and IRS. There is plenty of room. You may not be able to fit one of the universal kits but if you are handy with a welder and buy a bunch U and J bends it would not be hard.
