I need help identifying the driver side brake caliper on my Mk3 built in 2001. It's an IRS car and the caliper looks the same in the build manual. The caliper appears to be VFCC 2306-1. The brake rotor is about 10" in diameter and 1 inch thick. A 93 Lincoln MkVIII does not fit (too narrow). A 93 Mustang SVT appears the correct size, however the e-brake cable orientation is the opposite of what is on the car.
The bracket appears to indicate RH

Thank you

I saw that thread in my search. Those pictures show the same reversed e-brake configuration as the 93 Mustang SVT caliper. My actual first attempt was the T-Bird Super Coupe and no-joy. Then 93 SVT Mustang. Then Lincoln VIII. Trying a 90 T-Bird next, once one is located.

Thank you for the response.

From the original build manual. This is what mine looks like.

This image from a 93 Cougar XR7 looks right, however I cannot tell if it will accommodate the 1 inch rotor.

FYI - I bought the kit partially completed in 2001 and finished it. Unfortunately I do not know exactly what was used for the brakes as that was already done when I purchased it. Based on everything else, I am assuming the calipers were a 'standard' build configuration at the time.

Your IRS calipers are probably pre 1993. In 1993 Ford did a change over in design which appears to have switched the IRS rear brakes to the new Lincoln type, for T-Birds, Cougars and the MKVIII.

My MK3 IRS is from a 1992 T-Bird super coupe, The rebuilt calipers I used had the following part number from several parts places for the left rear, 18-4316 or 18B4316. I bought mine at O'Reilly's, which at the time was remanufactured by Cardone. The rotor specs for 1992 was 0.95 for thickness and a diameter of 10.16”, which fits with your measurement of 1” x 10".

Hope this helps,

The IRS calipers are the same for both T-bird super coupe and the Lincoln MkVIII. What is different is one has thick rotors and thinner pad, the other thin rotors and thick pads. It's the pads & rotors that need to match

92 Thunderbird SC is a match. Thank you for the information and part numbers.
