Good day All
I am looking for wheel recommendations for my MK3 other than the Halibrand wheels. A few options I have explored are listed below but looking for ideas / feedback on what others have used. Pictures on your car would be appreciated if you have them. I have a solid rear axle and don't want the tires to protrude and cause issues with the body.
I would prefer a 17" wheel, but those seem hard to find.
I would like a black finished wheel (gloss or flat TBD)
Cosmis wheels -> https://cosmisusa.com/products/cosmis-wheels-xt-206r-black-wheel-18x9-5-10-5x114-3-xt206r-1895-10-5x114-3-b?variant=15363500900398
I would use the XT-206R 18x9.5 in the front and 18x11 in the rear
Konig wheels -> https://konigwheels.com/products/konig-hypergram?variant=45798370967780
I would use the Hypergram 18x9.5 in the front and 18x11 in the rear
Thanks in advance
Todd

I'm currently running a Milled Face FR500 replicas, that I got from American Muscle and run an unusual 17X9 and 18X10 stagger combination:
https://youtu.be/iwslgKJUaKc
Those wheels are offered in 17's and 18's in various colors so you've got some good options to choose from that fit and fit well:
https://www.americanmuscle.com/search?keywords=fr500&generationId=3&vehicleGroup=5&vehicleType=1&Subcategory=Wheels&sort=Relevancy
My previous wheels, which I still own, were a Mustang Cobra Anniversary style that are 17X9 and 17X10's:

While those wheels were discontinued from OEM Wheels; however, very similar sets are still available from Late Model Restoration in two color combinations:
https://lmr.com/products/94-04-Mustang-SVE-Anniversary-Wheels#320
Also, check out Circuit Performance because the CP-21 wheels have really good offset and color options that will work well too:

You just need Hubcentric Rings, that they sell, to properly mount them on your car!

Thanks godadgo!
Any other recommendations that others are using? Just trying to find a reasonable solution for my car.
Thanks

So after looking further at LMR, I thinking I like these FR500 wheels with the Nitto G2 tires. I would probably go with 255 up front and 315 in the rear. Any feedback or cautions from the group?

I got those in the 17” size and like them a lot. I haven’t put tires on them yet but will if and when I want some modern rubber on the car for some reason. Good finish on them, great price and they’re reasonably light, too. The 17x9” are 21lbs and the 17x10.5” are 22lbs.

Do you have 12.88" Wilwood brakes? Those 17" LMR wheels might not clear over the Wilwood system?

no I have the stock mustang brakes on my set up Ejzajac. I appreciate the heads up though!

I'm building a MK5 and running LMR 17" wheels that fit really well. https://lmr.com/item/WTK-1007UBGN/mustang-fr500-wheel-tire-kit-94-04-black-nt555-g2-17x9-105

I think these are the wheel I have settled on as well for my MK3. I won't be using the 275's on the front. I think they will be too wide. I'll likely go with 245 or 255.

You think the 275s will be too wide in what way? I ran 275/40-17 on the front of my Mk3. If you opt to size down go with 255/40-17...the 245/45 is kind of stretched on a 9" rim and the wheel lip protrudes beyond the tire sidewall.

Great question Jeff. I simply deducted this because the FFR 17x9 rims recommend a 245 tire for the front on their website. If the 275 will work, I think I'm game since this is what comes in the kit from LMR.

I don't have the wheel on the chassis at the moment, but if you want, I can snap a few pics in full lock turn to help ease your worry before purchasing.

I'm running them on my MK4 with Nitto NT-05 315/35R17 rear and 255/40R17 front. Willwoods fit fine with them as well.
Also these center caps add a nice touch: Ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/357254417206?_skw=60MM+Gloss+Black+Rim+Center+Caps +cobra&var=625981485183&itmmeta=01K0YM97ZRMSH7WBRGWBVRMAMY&hash=item532e05cb36:g:v9AAAeSwwQ9obe3l&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1cG%2BD3 9S2A9y%2BBYowgFLtxoZNy9AfFr4%2BGDd5QDY2mPx%2F42wlq w68Va4iojK2d%2BwTkK11eeXVdGN7%2BRhqmDwSsqWGbL%2Bbw I8oGRjRJwZHNOV1fbwi9t%2FTafw6XlID1id7JrNT6TS5pX5Jn 4ELL4TudSFr1POjVnJPAAhDPFtwo6LtjmLeUpMGo7n49TkYMxl lltItJWhXvNPSHcuKcyMdi%2BUsSnhk4jXDYCoGRTLUPiu8fyY M4bBjK3tNY9puDHECJVSzRwWWe8atvv0uNv1%2FY318G17EHit upT%2BP5pItUR8KkR0SBAPNow6bYlFjfY0yA%3D%7Ctkp%3ABF BMgoCl1Idm) - not endorsing this seller, just an example.

if you don't mind that would be fantastic. I have an MK3, but I believe it should be representative with the UCA upgrade I did.

maybe to build on this thread a little if you don't mind.
Does the forum prefer the Nitto's or M/T's? I was eyeing the Nitto's but I am very open to feedback.

Hi Blitzboy54,
just saw that you have the same wheels that i am going to be using on my build, FR500 17x9 - 7.10.5, curious on what wheel spacers you ended up going with as your looks really nice.

None, those came stock with the same offsets as the FFR 17" Hailbrands. Simply bolt and go.
