Engine warning light on all the time, very faint.

Background - Mk4, gen 2 coyote engine. I, like many others, didn't like the engine fan running nonstop after it came on. I sent the CPU back to Ford Racing, who I purchased the engine from. They re-flashed it to allow the fan to cycle on and off. The fan was still loud when it was running. I then added the MFA 136 Maradyne Pwm Fan Controller. This reduced the noise level. I was now thinking that maybe the controller was somehow causing the engine light to stay on, so I removed it. Light is still on.

Has anyone had this issue and came up with a solution?
Thanks

PS: I'm preparing to install the Flex-Wave LoBoy Electric Fan

I have read from others that it is normal for the check engine light to be very faintly on with the Coyote Gen 2 (? and maybe other versions). When you go to start the car, you will see the engine light turn bright for a second and then immediately become faint if everything is ok. This is most noticeable in a garage or if it is dark out; can't really tell in full daylight. If the check engine light triggers on, it will be very noticeable.

Yup. Totally normal.

Gen 3 does the same thing. Played with various resistors and LED's (I'm not an EE...) and didn't change the behavior other than make it stay off all the time. I treat it as my "system is on" indicator. Barely visible in the daytime. A little more at night. An actual event and true on condition is very bright. So no chance to miss it.
