Hey experts,

I知 finally settling in on my dash. I run a terminator x and I have oil pressure, fuel pressure, tps and coolant temp feeding into the terminator x. I would like to run some of these gauges on the dash as well. Has anyone used an Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure, TPS Y-Splitter or conversely configured an out put from the ecu to drive the speed hut gauges? I have additional sensors but the engine is already very busy and I知 not keen on adding more wires.

I知 getting mixed signals about whether this will work(splitters) and can稚 tell if it is feasible (outputs on ecu).

Anyone?

Thanks,
Dan

I pondered this as well, because my ProFlo4 has it's own set of sensors. I ended up using a 2nd set of sensors, the ones that came with the Speedhut gauges, and ran wiring to each. It's not too much extra wiring on an EFI car, and I was unsure if the ProFlo sensors have the same impedance or voltage ranges that the Speedhut gauges need. So, I just ran a 2nd set.

Speedhut now offers gauges that are compatible with the Holley CANbus protocol. No extra sending units required.

Sigh because of course… for those considering this and the Holley ECU… this is the part you want:
https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/gauges_and_displays/analog_style_efi_gauges/parts/554-130

After that, any canbus gauge should work.

Yes, Danny has two sets of gauges and a digital dash. Does he really need a third set?

Lets re-invent the wheel

Say some more about that. Are you suggesting this widget from Speedhut shouldn't be used, and he should just use the senders that came with his gauges? That's where I'm at...

Certainly can. Just two oil pressure sensors, two fuel pressure sensors, two cts, two oil temp… starts to add up to a bunch of wires. If I wasn’t still weaseling about the dash it might be easier to just hook em all up. Does the ecu need all that? Nope, that said if I want to log this data it does… reference Papa and his stall issues…

You don't really need a dash gauge for fuel pressure and TPS sensor. Just water temp, oil PSI and, and oil temp.

The EFI has sending units, and the gauges have sending units. That does not mean they are the same specs. Wire it properly, or potentially have nightmare sorting out electrical gremlins. If the gauges are designed to use a canbus wiring harness, then that is a different thing, and will work as the computer will do the handshake and communications. Compatible specs

The Terminator X does not use the oil pressure or fuel pressure in any of it's tuning. It only monitors them. TPS is a different story. Although I'm not sure Speedhut sells a TPS gauge. I would use the senders that came with your gauges and not worry about the Terminator monitoring them. When it comes to the fuel pressure, you should only use a gauge to set the pressure once. The only other time you may use it down the line is if you need to diagnose something. And it's easy enough to do mechanically if you do.

I really only monitor oil pressure and coolant temp with my gauges, the tach is pretty much hidden behind the left side of my steering wheel. I have my ECU screen mounted so that it's easy to see and it gives me digital readouts for RPM, CTS, AFR, O2 Cor, Fuel PSI, Air Temp, and Voltage on page one. I've also got tons of other information available on other pages but I leave it on page one almost all of the time.

Thanks for all the feedback. I’m still sorting out what I want to do. The only reason I mentioned TPS is because that splitter is called a Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure, TPS Y-Splitter. https://currentperformance.com/shop/oil-pressure-fuel-pressure-tps-y-splitter/

I think racers have a visual of throttle but I’m not all that interested in that.

I have the 3.5” handheld dash that will show me all that I need and I do want to log them. So that’s all set up. Before I started cutting the dash I wanted some ideas on simplicity and this has helped.

Thanks,

Dan

The reality is, once you get it on the road and running well, you'll likely only really monitor water temp and oil PSI, if that. How often do you look at these data points in your daily driver?

No confusing the issue with facts.
