I’m going to order a kit bare because I want to PC it a specific color that’s yet to be determined. After taking pictures and more pictures and marking and more picture after that of all the sheets do most people PC them before assembly? The OCD in me feels like assembly and then tear down again and then PC even though that will take ALOT more time. But just in case I have one, two, three, or hundred oops I won’t mess up the PC

Yes, you'll want to drill your holes and have an initial panel fitment before you send them out for powder coat. When they come back, you will have to run a drill bit through the holes to open back up from the powder.

I powdercoated all my panels before fitting them. I had no problems. It actually made them a bit easier to handle IMHO.

I agree with cv2065. It’s easier and cleaner to mark and drill the bare aluminum panels. Clecos are your friends. The extra initial work is worth it. One slip with the drill on a PC’d panel would bug you for the rest of the build, potentially the the life of the car…you’ll never think of the few extra hours of work when it’s done. You’ll also get a good feel for which panels need adjustments. Once you’re happy, have them PC’d and then it’s really easy and satisfying to do final mounting.

I also powercoated mine after fitting and drilling everything. I did have to run a drill bit through many holes afterward, to remove the powdercoat, but it wasn't a big deal. Also, there are some panels that aren't mounted to the frame with set screws as delivered. If you don't have any holes drilled in those, your powdercoater will have to drill a hole in it to hang it when he or she does their thing. That hole may not be where you want it, so to avoid that, pre-drill everything you can. I did have to drill a few holes after powdercoat, and it really wasn't a problem; it didn't chip.

One of the things I did, was deburr any hole that was in the panel. Thinking back on it now, I had some that were pre-drilled and others that were not. A quick deburr cleans up the hole nicely.
