I just installed my skid plate but added a clearance hole for the drain plug. Mk4/302/TKX with old original style oil pan. Came out nice. I had to use my support stand to temp give clearance for the plate as the plate ends up in my usual 2 post lift leg support area. But method worked well as the lift legs held the plate loose for positioning and then tight to frame during drilling and tapping.
