I ordered a complete roadster kit in 2017 but cancelled due to family craziness (kids). LOL, I am back doing research and familiarizing myself with some of the newer stuff that has been offered since then. I am "kind of" mechanically inclined, but very organized and pay attention to detail. Trying to decide what motor, along with the extras, but putting my attention to the motor part first. I love the "old" look and want loud but thinking seriously about a coyote since it sounds like it would be a little less headache and more reliable and less maintenance. It will be a Sunday driver with my wife, and never traveling too far from home.

Welcome!!! I'd say that any SBF/SBC with modern EFI is going to be as reliable and low maintenance as the Coyote, as long as you go with a solid EFI system. For me, I like the sound of a pushrod small block, so I went that route.

Welcome back. There is nothing like the rumble of a Pushrod V8. Unless you really like sewing machines, go with the Coyote. LOL, just kidding guys. gbranham is right, modern EFI computer controls can definitely make pushrod motors as smooth and reliable as modulars.
I chose Small block Ford 427. That is my comfort zone. She runs smooth.

IMO a coyote is going to be more reliable if your talking high milage. With the amount of driving your suggesting along with the "old school look and sound", I would go with a push rod engine with EFI. It will give you everything your looking for. I felt the same way and went with a SBF Boss 460. Love it.
