I have 15 inch rims. What are people using for tires?
I have BF Goodrich radial TA now, time to replace. I see Cooper cobras are much cheaper, are they basically the same tire? any better performing tires out there?

The first 15” tires I used on my MK3 roadster were Firestone Indy 500’s. They seemed really good for the type of street driving I do, which was a lot of hilly back roads, normal street and freeways. When Firestone stopped selling the 15” sizes, I switch to Cooper’s a little over 3 years ago. The Cooper Cobra’s I would say feel about the same, they’re not loud on the freeway, they grip really well in the hills. I would buy them again. The only negative thing about them I don’t like is the name. Cooper should drop the Cobra name and just call them Cooper Radial GT.
In 2021, Goodyear from what I remember reading, bought the Cooper company which included the Mikey Thompson brand name.
Hope this helps,
I’ve only put about 100 miles on my Cooper Cobra tires, but think they do great for a radial 15” touring tire. If you don’t like the name just mount them blackwall side out like I did.

what sizes are you using? thanks!
I put 295/50-15 on the rear and 235/60-15 on front, although you can go with 245/60-15 if up front if you want a tiny bit taller tire to fill out wheel well more. I think either look great. Check out my build thread for video & pics.

I have 235/15’s on the front and 295/15’s on the back. You should reference the current tire fit on your Roadster and go from there. I didn’t notice which MK you have. But, depending on version and spindle type, wheel offset, 245/15’s could stick out past the front fender.

I’m using the Mickey Thompsons in 15”. Very happy with them!
