I am looking to upgrade my seats from the FFR Leather to something more comfortable and would like opinions and costs. As I get older large bumps in the road send a shock up my back and I would like to alleviate some of that. I have installed an extra 1" of foam in the cushion base and that helps a lot, but the lumbar area is in need of more support. I could take them to a local trim shop and have them re-foamed but maybe there are some much better and more comfortable seats out there. I don't really want hi backs. Any opinions would be helpful.

I swapped to the Kirkey lowback seats. I have a very small added gel type cushion in the bottom. They give more room then the FF seats and are surprisingly comfortable. Many that have the FF seats that have ridden in my car have commented on how comfortable they are. They are also much more of a bucket seat and keep you from sliding side to side during high speed cornering :-). I've done many cross country trips in these seats and find them to be more comfortable then my 2021 March-e seats. Also, as it is also certainly a factor, I am 5'9" and weight about 190lbs.

How much were they and where did you get them?

I got mine here on the forums. They come up for sale from time to time. I'd check HPDE/SCCA groups and ebay as well. Last ditch you can always buy new from Kirkey.

I've purchased the Kirkey 55 lowbacks through Speedway. You'll need to determine and choose your size.

I recommend using these mounts which make it easy to get your preferred height and recline angle .In our cars they need to be oriented so that the horizontal portion is under the seat and not to the outside.

What size Kirkey 55 lowbacks will fit in a Mark5 without modification. Do folks think they are more adjustable and comfortable than the standard FFR lowback seats?

I have 17s sitting in my Mk5 with no issues. I find them to be quite comfortable and they do a much better job of keeping you in place vs. the classic FFR lowbacks.
