View Full Version : Espera Sbarro Heritage ESX
Anyone else seen this? There are some stunning design details here, and the proportions and shape are excellent.
Still not entirely sure how I feel about it, but there are a few design cues that I may borrow for our upcoming Type 65 build.
I think what I love most is that there are others that share our passion for the Daytona Coupe, and want to make it their own.
There's not a ton of information about it, but there's a Coyote under the hood and the tube frame looks very similar to FFR.

A more modern take on the 65 Daytona. I like the looks.

Pretty cool.
But too modern looking for my taste. And looks more like a Viper

I agree on both counts, I really prefer the simple round headlights of the FFR version.
The rear is almost cartoon-ish in proportions, and the vents behind the front wheels are what push it into the Viper design language and away from Daytona Coupe.
However the line of the roof, rear glass, and rear fenders is gorgeous.
One of the articles mentions the headlights came from a Ford Puma.
Clever, and it stays in the Ford family!

I found these two videos about the car, the Heritage ESX. It's a French university or trade school, Espera Sbarra, project car with direct tributes to the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe.
It was a total from the ground up design and fabrication build by about 25 students over a 5-month period. The car has a Ford Coyote 5.0 and is a fully running car.
Yes, Not a Type 65 nor Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe replica, but a more modern interpretation and creative homage by students. An amazing design and build actually.
One would have to divorce themself of considering it a period correct Daytona Coupe, but there are some very interesting design features for a possible equally creative modern build.

Thanks for finding that. My 18 year old self really wants to go that school!!
Also the detail on the windows reminds me a bit of your build. I mean that in a good way :D

I generally like a well-done "modern interpretation" of a classic. The rear of this one is slightly exaggerated, but overall, color me a fan.
