I have a Gen 2 block, with a Gen 3 manifold, and a Gen 1 cover. I’ve seen other people’s mods to make the cover work with later models, but I wanted to try and figure it out with stuff I already have on-hand.
So, I took the rubber grommets, and punched a hole in the bottom of each to accommodate a 10-24 rivet nut. To give the rivnut something to clamp against, I bored out a washer to shove into the grommet, and it worked out decently well. Then it’s just a matter of measuring and making screw holes in the cover, and screwing it down to snug—but got to be careful not to over tighten or rush extracting the rivnut from the grommet.
