Dear forum members,
I've been having a problem for a few days with a leak in the cabin. When driving at high speed, hot air blows in from the left and right sides near the door hinges. At first, it seemed like the heating was on, but after a closer inspection, the air is actually coming from the engine compartment. Could it be that the seal is too small? Has anyone experienced this issue, and is there a simple way to fix it? Do I need to remove the dashboard?

foam pool noodle or water heater pipe insulation can help seal off those cracks. Shine a light in from the engine bay to see the cracks.

I didn't know that much insulation was needed. I'll fix it properly when I take off the bodywork, but for now stuffing some foam from inside the engine compartment will have to do. Thanks a lot for your help!

Yea, it's a pretty wide space. I bought the 2" foam and there was even still a small section on the drivers side that didn't fully fill in. I also trimmed the edges towards the top and bottom so they tapered with the body curves a little. Works great! I also used some spray glue to fix it in place.

I find it coming from the heater ducts! I think the squirrel cage on the heater is spinning from the air movement under the hood. Thinking of trying a way to prevent this from happening; maybe some sort of shield?

That's because the engine bay gets hot and the air gets pushed through the heater even though it's off.

Solution is block off the heater when not used in some way or change your vents to a type that closes off.

Or turn the FFR ones this way to when not used.
