I was doing some door-fitting and I noticed that the body only sits about 1/8" (or less) above the ends of the dash hoops -- not the dash itself, just the very ends of the 3/4" tubes. Clearance along the rest of the hoop/dash is fine. Is this normal?

Otherwise everything else looks ok.

Normal. The body sits on the rubber seal on the firewall, not the dash or the dash hoop itself. It usually will rub the top corners of the dash (at least for the aluminum dash) if positioned correctly.

At build school they told us we might even need to bend the very ends of the dash hoop downward a little so they don't contact the body and cause fitment issues. I bent mine down about 1/4" just to be safe.
