I've searched the forum, google, and YouTube and can't find many comments at all about how much leg room there is in the new extended cab version. I know it's all subjective but those who are 6' and taller, are you comfortable? How stretched out are your legs? Are the foot wells cramped? Appreciate any comments and thank you.

I built the original size truck. I'm 5'9" and mostly average size. It was tight, although to be honest I picked seats that didn't help. Thinner seats would have improved the situation, but it still would not have been ideal. I can only make two comments about the new extended cab version: It's been stated the revised truck went from the tightest to the FF model with the most room. So that's encouraging. The footboxes on the other hand are tight. I put an automatic in mine and even without the clutch pedal it was tight. The clutch pedal would have filled the footbox right to the LH wall. Build thread for my build is in my sig line below.

I am 6'-1" and my extended cab is at the go-cart stage. I can tell you it is not like driving a new car or truck. I have an automatic transmission and I cannot see adding another pedal for a clutch. There is not much room from the side of the chassis to the trans tunnel. There is a 1 inch square tube that runs diagonally up to the firewall, I use that as a deadfoot to gain a little more room. But as for the overall length. It extended cab is good for me. I do have the tilt steering column that makes it much easier to get in and out.

I keep telling people that comes over and see how skinny widthwise the cab is on it's dolly that you don't have passengers, you have "significant others".

ok, thank you all! So it sounds like the extended cab helps but still can be a tight fit. Thanks a bunch.

I'm about ready to order a '35 Truck but I really would like to sit in one to check out the seats and if I will fit. Is there someone in the Los Angeles area who would be willing to show me their truck? I would appreciate it. THANKS!

I'm in Northern Arizona just south of I40 in Prescott. It's a bit of a drive, but consider you are about to lay out some serious clams, it could be worth it if you don't find anyone closer. You are always welcome here.

They have a little more recline built in than most of the FFR seats. With the track all the way back I am very comfortable. One of the concerns for most people is the width of the footbox. I have an AOD automatic and wonder how people fit a clutch pedal.
I also have a 12 Wide shoe that takes up space. LOL

Originally I wanted a reclining/ folding seat, but after trying two different versions I realized that most if not all a simply too wide at the folding point to fit between the drive shaft cover and the side of the roll cage.

I'm 6'4" and 220 lbs. Some years ago I built a FFR Cobra and autocrossed it for several seasons. The footbox on that car was tight (manual trans) so I found a pair of indoor soccer shoes (Adida Sambas) that I wore when I drove the Cobra. I sold the Cobra and some years later decided to build the '35 truck. When the kit arrived I mocked up the cab with the bench seat and realized it was tight -- to the point I couldn't close the door! So I had a local body shop extend the cab by 4" (this was before FFR came out with their extended cab version :-( Talking with FFR one day I found out they offer a "big and tall" bucket seat. It's the same as their regular bucket seat, except with less padding. So, I bought a set of those seats. All this coupled with the Ididit tilt column makes for a driveable car, but it's still very intimate inside ;-)

Although I'm open to any seat I was leaning toward the bench seat in vinyl and having it re-upholstered locally.
But again, I'd really like to find a truck in the LA area with a bench to try it out.
