I have a new BP 347 sitting on its shipping crate and it will be months before it gets installed. I'd like to periodically circulate some oil through it but really don't want to pull the distributor since it has been all set up and dyno'd.
Can I just pull the plugs and use the starter and a jump pack to get some oil circulating?
... or am I worrying about something that I don't need to worry about?
Thanks,
Pat

I wouldn’t worry about it now. Deal with the priming after it’s in the car and you are looking at a first start. There’s no issue with it sitting there. Just keep it wrapped up and out of the way until you are ready for it.
Sorry, deleted post...I responded to the wrong thread. Carry on and good luck!

I think you're worrying about a problem that doesn't really exist. Put a nice engine bag around it, seal up the bag, and maybe throw a desiccant bag in the engine bag, and forget about it until you install it.

Thanks to all. I'll ensure it's well wrapped and throw some desiccant bags in there as well.
