View Full Version : Mk5 Alluminum Panels

For you Mk5 guys, is there a panel that covers the "X" brace below the firewall in the engine compartment over where the bellhousing would be located? I don't see one in my panels box and can't tell if it is on the diagram of aluminum panels.
It sure looks like there should be a panel filling that area, unless there is something I don't understand. I have been trying to post photos, but so far, no luck.

If it's anything like the coupe (and I believe it is) there is no panel. Most guys make one.

I am just curious why one was not provided. It looks unfinished without one. Could it be for cooling purposes or interrace with other components?

Not sure, probably just trying to keep cost down for the kit. I have a couple of panels coming to make that space under the dash usable.
