I saw this on FB today. Posted 4 days ago at Newcomb's Ranch outside of Los Angeles. Allegedly hit by a van making a U-turn. Hope everyone's OK. Wonder if it's anyone from this forum?

Probably not anyone from here since it's not a FFR.

Riding motorcycles the last 40 years I learned to ride like everybody is trying to kill you. Don't give them a chance....and loud pipes DO save lives.

Someone's worst nightmare. I am assuming that is the driver leaning over in the car. He looks to be o.k. I hope that is the case.

Looks like it could be a ERA.

I used to ride motorcycles up Angeles Crest Hwy to Newcomb's Ranch with a group of guys every Saturday, and it was rare not to see an accident.
U-turns like you mentioned, crossing the double yellow around blind corners, running wide, loosing traction, etc...

I hung up my helmet when my son was born, and looking back it's so fortunate that I was never involved in one of those wrecks on that road.

Hope everyone was ok.

You have a better eye than me. I thought it looked like one of "ours". :)

Horrible. Seems that since Covid the driving public has lost its mind. I gave up bikes as well—but read on here somewhere that we should keep the motorcycle tactics when driving the Cobras. Hope no serious injuries occurred!

I rode street bikes since I was 18 and got hooked into endurance racing with some friends. I wasn't much of a sprint racer.
I quit riding on the street for the most part about 10 years ago.
I did however do 8-10 track days a year since 2009.
I love riding fast on the track but my closest track closed down so now it's 4-5 hours to the nearest track so I've decided to hang up the leathers.

I doubt I'll get get my car to the track, I just want to build a nice, reliable driving car.
I guess now that the challenge of the track riding is gone I need another challenge.

I feel bad for that car owner, hope they didn't get injured, that looks like a hard hit.

I find it interesting that so many of us here do or have ridden motorcycles.
Hearing Dave Smith talk about motorcycles I'm sure we could talk as much about bikes as Factory Five.
