I have an Mk 1 that I am currently tinkering with. It has the old I squared electrical system in it. I like the simplicity of it but I don't think they are in business anymore so I am worried about customer support. It alo uses an old computer cable connection that is old school and probably obsolete.
I was wondering if I should ditch the I squared system and go with the Ron Francis harness. I don't have any extra electricsl components so not alot of demand but I don't want electrical issues down the road.
Opinions please. Thanks.

If it were me I would look at Painless or American Autowire harnesses. You can tailor to your individual needs.

I would look at American Autowire before Painless. Painless are painful to deal with.

I happen to like the Painless, which is painless, and done several roadsters and coupes. I like putting my connectors where I want them. The biggest hurdle with all is where is the fuse panel going, how many "extras" do you want, how do you want it to work, etc.

I should rephrase that, they are painful if you ever need support after the sale.
