I just installed new electric steering. I've always had issues where the steering felt loose then tight as I turn even before electric conversion. Well, now it feels exacerbated with input. The alignment is - .5 camber, 7 degree camber and 1/8 toe. I've triple redone all the joints to ensure that's not the binding issue. Is the manual rack need adjustment. I've already played with the locknut screw on the bottom and that did nothing

Do you have the twisted double D shaft (the flats on each end are 90 degrees to each other) between the firewall and electric steering unit?

The twisted D was an upgrade by FFR to eliminate the binding.

I would give FFR a call and order one.

Also check that you have "high clearance" U-joints. If the angle between shafts is severe enough the yokes on the two halves of the U-joint will bind against each other.

In my case I already had the U-joints so I just clearanced them out some with a burr bit on my die grinder....problem solved.

I ordered another dd shaft last night. Gonna cut it and resend it today 90 degrees. Also going to shim lower bolt on rack. Thanks for your input!

The FFR 90 degree shaft was around $60 and well worth every penny
PN# 35071 $35.00 with $24.78 shipping
